Pics from London!

Finally I got to see the The Rosetta Stone! It stands in the British Museum. Wiki explains better than me why it is so important: "The decree appears in three scripts: the upper text is ancient egyptian hieroglyphs, the middle portion demotic script, and the lowest ancient greek. Because it presents essentially the same text in all three scripts, it provided the key to the modern understanding of egyptian hieroglyphs."

A funny animal mask made by the Inuit a looong time ago.
Just love the sad eyes, and the fluffy beard.

I think I got the Stendhals Syndrome when I saw the east pediment of the Parthenon.
It was so huge! (You can see Dionysos to the left.)

Collage from the 70's. I don't know who made it I'm afraid,
but I really liked it.

Yinka Shonibare with his exhibition POP! at the Stephen Friedmans Gallery.

Shonibare's vulgar version of The Last Supper. "This exhibition of all new works focuses on the corruption, excess and debauchery that have in part led to the current economic crisis."

"David Bowie is" at the Victoria and Albert Museum. So great!
All the costumes were there, a lot of interviews, pictures,
soundtracks, everything you can ask for. Even a periodic table of him.
And everything was so beautifully presented.

Marcel Dzuma

Rachel Whiteread in the Gagosian Gallery.
I just love her work. She fills sheds and houses with concrete, and then takes the
wood planks/facade off, so the only thing remains is the empty space. From negative to positive.
So beautiful and poetic.

You can see the wood traces in the concrete.

Philippe Vandenberg on Hauser & Wirth, with his grotesque but
beautiful drawings and paintings.
